Privacy Policy

Last updated September 7, 2026

This policy explains what Dad Lawn collects when you request a Lawn Score, use a customer account, or become a member, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Who we are

Dad Lawn is a lawn-performance company. Our current coverage is listed on our service-area page. You can reach us at hello@dadlawn.com or (515) 599-0562 with any question about this policy or your information.

Information we collect

We collect information to provide lawn services, manage accounts and operate our business.

You give us directly:

  • →The name, contact details, service address or ZIP code, lawn observations and goals you provide when requesting or scheduling a Lawn Score or Diagnostic. Required and optional fields are identified in the relevant form.
  • →Your name and verified email when you create an app account, and optional property and contact details you add afterward.
  • →Anything you tell us in messages, calls, or during the on-site visit.

We create during service:

  • →Property details: lawn size, turf type, irrigation, drainage, sun and shade conditions.
  • →Soil sample results and the resulting Lawn Score, findings, and Lawn Report.
  • →Photographs of the property before, during, and after work.
  • →Appointment, visit, proposal, job, membership, and payment records.

Collected automatically when you use the site:

  • →How you found us: referring website, landing page, and campaign parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term) plus advertising click identifiers (fbclid from Meta, gclid from Google).
  • →Which button or page you converted from, so we can tell which advertising is working.
  • →Standard technical information your browser sends, including IP address, which we also use to rate-limit abuse of our public forms.

We do not collect Social Security numbers or government identifiers through the customer app. The app does not request device GPS, contacts, microphone, camera or photo-library access. We do not buy personal information about you from data brokers.

Text messages and calls

Where you opt in to text messages, we may text you about your request, appointment or service, including using automated technology. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Providing a phone number in the app is not itself consent to marketing texts.

Consent to marketing messages is not a condition of purchase. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Replying STOP opts out of text messages from that sending number. Contact us by email if you need help managing a service after opting out.

We do not sell or share your mobile number or messaging consent with third parties for their own marketing.

How we use your information

  • →To contact you about your Lawn Score request and schedule the diagnostic visit.
  • →To diagnose the property, produce your Lawn Report, and recommend a plan.
  • →To perform, schedule, and verify work — including sharing what a specialist needs to do their job.
  • →To take payment, manage memberships, and keep service records.
  • →For the public marketing website, to measure which advertising produces real customers, so we spend responsibly.
  • →To improve our recommendations and prevent fraud or abuse of our forms.

Cookies and tracking

The customer app does not contain an advertising SDK or request an advertising identifier. It stores its sign-in session in device secure storage. Its account, policy and payment-return pages do not load our marketing measurement scripts on entry. Payment management opens a Stripe-hosted browser page, which is also subject to Stripe's policy.

We set a first-touch attribution cookie that remembers how you first arrived (for example, which ad), so that if you return days later we can still credit the right source. We also set a secure session cookie if you sign in to the member portal.

On public marketing pages, when configured, we use Vercel Web Analytics, Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta Pixel to understand site usage and advertising performance. You can block cookies in your browser settings, use your device's advertising-tracking controls, and opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on. Blocking them does not affect your ability to request a Lawn Score.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, and only what they need:

  • →Qualified, appropriately licensed professionals performing work at your property — they receive the address, the scope, and your first name, and never your pricing or contact details.
  • →Stripe, to process payments and manage billing. Full card numbers are entered with Stripe, not stored in our database. We receive payment status and limited billing details such as card brand and last four digits.
  • →Resend, to deliver email such as confirmations and your Lawn Report.
  • →Twilio, to deliver and receive text messages where enabled and permitted by your messaging choices.
  • →Google Maps Platform, for address suggestions when you type your address.
  • →Vercel and Neon, which host the site and database, and Cloudflare R2, which stores property photographs.
  • →Sentry, when configured, for website/server error and performance diagnostics. The native app does not include the Sentry SDK, but embedded website pages can use website monitoring.
  • →Anthropic, for AI-assisted analysis in our service tools. Lawn photos, assessment context and uploaded lab documents may be processed; those documents can contain property or contact information. The customer app does not offer an AI upload or chat feature. Advisors review recommendations before customer publication.
  • →Google and Meta, which receive advertising conversion signals from the public marketing website so we can measure campaign performance.
  • →Professional advisors, or authorities where required by law.

Photographs of your property

We photograph properties to document work and verify quality. We ask separately before using any image publicly, and permission to publish is never a condition of service. When we do publish, we identify a neighborhood or market — never your street address — and we never present an illustration as a real customer result.

How long we keep it

We keep customer and property records for as long as you are a customer and afterward as needed for warranty, tax, and legal purposes. Leads that never become customers are kept while there is a reasonable prospect of doing business, and application records are retained as required by applicable regulation. You can ask us to delete your information at any time using the contact details above.

Your choices and rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, or ask us to stop contacting you. Some records must be retained where the law requires. Depending on where you live, you may have additional statutory rights, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them — we honor these requests regardless of your state of residence.

To make a request, email hello@dadlawn.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting.

Deleting your app account

In the customer app, open Account, then Manage profile, privacy & sign out. Under Delete account, choose Request account deletion. We verify the request with a fresh email code, end account access, and complete reviewed deletion within 30 days. We email you when removal is complete. You can also contact us using the email above.

We delete your app login and personal information we no longer need. Records needed for existing service obligations or required financial, safety, or legal purposes may be retained separately, with access restricted and retention reviewed. Account deletion does not itself cancel agreed services, issue a refund, or change an amount owed. Contact us if you also want to change your service agreement.

Security

We use encrypted connections, hash account verification codes and native access tokens on the server, protect the app's saved session using device secure storage, restrict internal access to what each role needs, and serve private customer documents and photographs through short-lived links. Previously shared or downloaded copies cannot always be recalled. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify you as required by law if a breach affects your information.

Children

Our services are for property owners and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information; if we learn we have, we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell customers directly. Where a change requires your consent, we will ask for it separately.
